Utah State Fair

Today was the Utah State Fair. I was able to skip school and go with my FFA (Future Farmers of America) division. It was an hour and a half drive to Salt Lake City. When we got there, we all unloaded from the bus and stood in line FOREVER, unable to go in. Then three police cars show up and start searching kids. This one guy got caught with drugs in two of his waterbottles. The actual fair was fun, I got to see all sorts of cool animals like rabits, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, and birds. We also got to watch a sea lion show. It was really neat. We stayed at the fair for about three hours and then got on the buses to go home. About halfway home, a whole bunch of guys stood up in the back. They were arguing and it looked as though a fight was going to start any minute. Almost every guy on the bus got tense and were all ready to head back there if they started punching. The FFA instructor kept yelling  for them to sit down then eventually brought one who wouldn't sit down to the front of the bus to talk to him. So, this was a really interesting day full of drugs, near fights, and animals.

Quotes

"The closer you get to light, the greater your shadow becomes" -Kingdom Hearts

"Nothing can dim the light which shines from within." -Maya Angelou

"We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are." -J.K. Rowling

"All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle." -St. Francis of Assisi

"God did not create evil. Just as darkness is the absence of light, evil is the absence of God." -Albert Einstein

"I like not only to be loved, but also to be told that I am loved. I am not sure that you are of the same mind. But the realm of silence is large enough beyond the grave. This is the world of light and speech, and I shall take leave to tell you that you are very dear." -George Eliot

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
-Marianne Williamson
